About me
Dan is a specialist plastic surgeon with a national and international reputation. He trained in the UK, with advanced fellowship training in Brisbane, Australia, and was awarded prestigious scholarships in aesthetic surgery for fellowships in Vienna, Austria and the USA.
He has performed over 10000 procedures over a 16 year career in plastic and aesthetic surgery. He formerly led the Newcastle Hospitals plastic surgery department as director and is a multi-award-winning recipient, being the only Plastic surgical recipient of the Royal College of England’s Worshipful Company of Cutlers Prize. He is a recognised educator in aesthetic surgery as education lead for The BAAPs and co-director of the internationally renowned Face Course.
He is a frequently invited speaker in face and neck lifting, and has published scientific papers on safety in neck lifting, ‘preservation’ techniques in facelifting and eyelid surgery. He is part of the North East’s regional specialist head neck and facial team, and has led the development of a number of innovations in head neck and facial surgery in the NHS and aesthetic practice.
Dan will be clear on expectations and has a premium on safety, no matter what. Whilst the major component of Dan’s work is advanced facial surgery, he also has an interest in post-pregnancy surgery – we hate the term ‘mummy makeover’! He developed his own breast ‘auto-augmentation’ procedure to uplift the breasts and has published techniques for post-pregnancy breast rejuvenation.
